​Walking with Roy is no ordinary tour, but an educational journey through the past and present of Nijmegen in the form of a relaxing walk. During the tour, I dwell on the origins of Nijmegen and the many developments of the city: contemporary, with interesting facts and sometimes a touch of humor.

​My walk stands for meeting and discovery. I love to tell you about the history, the culture, and the beautiful nature of Nijmegen.

​Whether you love Roman history, the raw stories from the Middle Ages, old streets and architecture, or the peace of nature; together we make it a relaxing walk that appeals to you. Hop on your pedals and discover Nijmegen and its surroundings in an active way! During my bike tours, we combine the rich history of the oldest city in the Netherlands with the beautiful nature that our region has to offer.

Good to know:

For these tours, you bring your own trusted bicycle. Don’t have a bike at your disposal or are you visiting the city? No problem! You can easily rent a bike yourself at one of the many rental points in the city center or at the station.

STROLLING WITH ROY 

For me, strolling is more than just walking. It is a way of relaxing and discovering. It is the art of slowing down, looking closely at your surroundings, and letting yourself be surprised by what the environment has to offer at that moment. If you want to discover the outskirts of Nijmegen (Stadswaard), make sure to put on sturdy walking shoes.

What are the cost?

My walks are not only educational but also voluntary and free of charge. It is my pleasure to take you through Nijmegen’s rich past and create a relaxing walk together. My goal is to show you Nijmegen through different eyes. If you enjoy the walk, a voluntary contribution afterwards is appreciated. This allows me to continue developing my knowledge of the interesting and challenging history of Nijmegen.

Flash visit:

During a flash visit, you will receive a short guided tour and 10 minutes of access to a special monument or archaeological heritage site. This is a surprise and will change every time!

Information:

Duration: 90 or 120 minutes.

Rest break: + 30 minutes.
